Fall 2023 Parent Representative Nominations
The DMTC School Improvement Council (SIC) plays a vital role as an advisory council to the principal, primarily focused on enhancing school-related matters. The SIC comprises representatives from students, parents, teachers, and members of the community, with the principal serving as an ex-officio member. Meetings are scheduled once each semester during the school year, from 12 pm to 1 pm.
DMTC parent representatives are selected through nominations and subsequent elections by their fellow DMTC parents. Any parent or guardian with at least one child enrolled in DMTC is eligible to nominate themselves or another parent.
Parent representatives hold a standard two-year term unless their child will no longer be attending DMTC in the second year. In such cases, the parent serves a one-year term.
Before the election, a representative from the SIC will reach out to all nominated individuals to confirm their acceptance of the nomination. Parent representative elections will be conducted the following week. Each school will elect one representative: one from Broome High School and one from Spartanburg High School.
You can submit your SIC nomination in one of the following ways:
- In-person at the main office to Beth Hayes.
- Send it with your student (so they can give it to their DMTC teacher).
- Via email to Heath Roberts at heathr@dmtconline.org
Please ensure that nomination forms are returned no later than October 2, 2023.
